My aim as a counsellor is to address your issues at present, and to help you develop awareness, resilience and your own ability to bring about change and personal growth. We will collaborate on examining the challenges you are facing, make choices and decisions congruent with who you are, and discover your potential for fulfillment and joy.
I work with adults and adolescents on both short-term and long-term bases, and I have helped clients with depression, stress & anxiety, family & relationship issues, concerns over career & life choices, sexuality & gender issues, addictions, self-esteem issues, bereavement, questions of spirituality & meaning, and issues arising from cultural identity & difference. My clients have included performers, scientists, store assistants, corporate professionals, students, the unemployed and more. I am also able to offer therapy in Mandarin and/or Cantonese.
I hold a Post-Graduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling and Psychotherapy which is accredited by the BACP and validated by the University of East London. My counselling and therapeutic experience includes working at The Koan Practice, Number 42, The Putneymead Group Medical Practice [NHS] and The Central London Samaritans. I also work with instructors in the training of new counsellors and psychotherapists at The Psychosynthesis Trust. As a Registered Member MBACP of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy [BACP], I abide by the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.
Prior to counselling, I worked in both the legal and publishing industries in New York City, before moving into business & financial consulting, corporate advisory, human resources management, local government and the charity sector in London, and I am well acquainted with the stresses and demands of modern living. With an international, multi-cultural background spanning three continents, I began my process of self-exploration as a teenager, arriving at psychotherapy & spirituality as ways towards discovering meaning in my own life.
"I practise Psychosynthesis therapy, an integrative transpersonal approach that works with your feelings, mind & body, and I also incorporate elements of Psychodynamic, Gestalt, Mindfulness & Cognitive Behavioural Therapy."
I am a fully insured Registered Member MBACP of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. My credentials can be verified against the BACP Voluntary Register.
